I don't think it's unreasonable at all to think that ME has a personal understanding of the intent of that clause. Not claiming that he did, just presenting the possibility into the discussion in this thread.
As for precluding Feaster form liability and responsibility, I never said that.
One of the primary criticisms of Feaster in this is that he didn't call the league - and that is a valid criticism that I have also made.
On that issue, someone said that Feaster should have talked to someone who knew what the rule was.
I posited that ME might well be one of those people.
But I also said that I have no idea whether Feaster talked to him about it.
The fact of the matter is that it is still uncertain as to whether the allegations against Feaster are entirely accurate, and I am anxiously awaiting word from the league. On this, I think it is certainly a possibility that Feaster and ME talked and that they are completely confident in the rule. I am not stating that that is what happened, but it is a possibility.
