Feaster has done a decent job of getting the Flames a bit younger with more impact players under the age of 30. No franchise or superstars, for sure, but at least good players that will help this team win in the future.
I too am confident Feaster won't be trading a 1st round pick for a rental, but that doesn't mean he won't trade a 1st for a 30+ year old with at least a couple years left on his contract. I can easily see Feaster trading a 1st for Brad Richards and I bet Feaster will see the trade as a win now and in the future type move.

I have said this before, people talk as if Darryl went out and traded 1st round picks for 35+ year olds or signed them to multi-year contracts. Some people have forgotten that Darryl went out and acquired players like Tanguay, Cammalleri, Bouwmeester, and Jokinen when they were in the same age group as Hudler and Wideman are now in. At the end of the day, Feaster has not made this team better.
