Funny thing is I agree with Feaster's supposed interpretation and think the NHL is to blame for not clearly defining the difference between "a club" and "the club".
They also go on to state the player is still waiver exempt if a trade occurs, so I am not sure why they did not build the same contingencies for an offer sheet.
I am embarrassed because we just became the laughing stock of the league because no matter what Feaster says after the fact he is just covering his ass.
I am also embarrassed because our GM did not at least clarify this with the NHL and NHLPA before the fact...that makes me thing his cover up is B.S.
Had you actually thought you could do this due to the wording you would likely clarify and not put $2.5 million, a 1st, and a 3rd at risk.
