I would like to see King moved up to President of Flames Sports Group or whatever it is called and oversee all the big issues with the teams the Flames now own and bring in a hockey guy as President of the Flames.
Whether this is a President/GM like Burke or a President that hires a GM like Davidson i don't care but I do want someone with a hockey backgroud in that role. Let King run all the big item things like the new stadium, maybe Sportsnet TV deals, etc. but the President runs the day to day operations and is the final say on all hockey matters.
Bob Nicholson would be ideal for this in my view but with him taking over IIHF I doubt he takes it.
I think King can still be valuable in the business aspects of the organization and especially the big picture stuff that might be a bit beyond a hockey's guys expertise but I am too worried about his opinions on the hockey direction to want him to be as close as he is to the decision making process.
As for Feaster obviously fine with him going and would prefer an extensive search for his replacement if fired. If they want Goulet or Weisbrod to step in for rest of season to maximize candidates availability so be it but just promoting a guy with no real search would be awful.
