I certainly have no love of Flanagan and his brand of politics, but based on his phrasing, I'm willing to bet that he didn't sign up himself but rather somebody put his email address on the list as a prank.
That said, the fact that -- by his own admission -- he was on the list for a few years is troubling. Like you said, why didn't he unsubscribe as soon as he received a single mailing from that organization?

yes exactly that should be a huge question mark that needs to investigated by the RCMP. Flanagan with that statement has warranted what should be suspicion to be investigated.
Its just the same as if the Klan contacted you through email would you maintain contact or end it right there.
Flanagan's entire personal life should be torn open by the RCMP they have enough to move forward, or do they just close their eyes because of who is and wait for him to destroy all possible evidence?
Who smpathizes with a pedo or a pedo lifestyle that isn't one themself. I don't know that answer but the police need to unearth this repugnant person's personal background and his associations.
Could be part of something much bigger.
