The only way to address the position is not just by swinging for homeruns and it continues to be an embarrassment that there is one center on the ice night in and night out for this team.
There's no point in going after the lesser guys. Go big or go home, and if we keep thinking Daymond Langkow/Craig Conroy types are going to be enough to ride the coat tails of talented wingers, we will continue to falter when it matters most.

Feaster has made more effort to improve the centre position in his two years on the job than Sutter in his last eight. He drafted Jankowski, signed cervenka, now this, in addition to the Richards attempt. He has shown what he truly values. Talented centres. As long as he remains committed to stockpiling as many centres as he can get his hands on, he's on the right track. But at a certain point, the guy can only do so much.

And wasting assets to acquire lesser players is not the way to go about business.
