Yes, that is the case, but I am not sure why he would reject 6.5 million dollars unless he thought he could sign for more than that or unless he wanted long term security. I would imagine long term security in that case would be at least 7 years, because a 4 year contract is not really worth it when he can get 6.5 million for the next two years and then go UFA.
