True, I just can't see it reaching 78%. Not among guys who had multiple year careers. There was obviously a long period of guys who were underpaid, so I can see them going broke. Then there was a period where the salaries seemed to increase dramatically but the leagues did little, if anything, to help players deal with financial planning issues. That opened the door to a lot of predators and stupid investments. Leagues really seem to be taking the financial education of their players seriously over the last few years, and while there will certainly be a lot of bad choices made, I'd expect that the number of former players who wind up in really bad spots will go down.
