I just desperately want this team to get out of this funk they've been in for 5 years. It was clear to me in April of 2007 that the team wasn't good enough to compete with the core they had on the ice. (year they lost to the Wings)
They muddled through and lost a 7 gamer to the Sharks and a 6 gamer to the Hawks the next two years, and then out for three.
Teams are making bold moves to position themselves every year, and the Flames just keep tinkering with a flawed product.
This schedule to me says the season could effectively be over on March 15th, ... and I'd rather have that then bubble to the end and finish 10th. I see it as not the best scenario, but a decent second best scenario.
I just hope the ownership group have excel on their laptops

You know you aren't alone as while you aren't as vocal about it as some of us the current problems have been ongoing for years and fans see it, media sees it, other teams see it but the Flames ownership doesn't and it's extremely frustrating as a proud fan to be dragged into a situation of cheering for a team that has turned into one of the laughing stocks of the league as our team for different reasons is viewed in the same light as the Oilers and Islanders.
