Nope. Long-time fan here who long ago stopped becoming attached to particular players and cares more about the jersey than who wears it. And I've watched enough hockey to recognize a team that has very little chance of accomplishing much over the next couple seasons, so it's all about building for the future at this point. Iginla's value to the franchise right now is what kind of long-term assets he can bring in, not some sort of misty-eyed reverence for what he's done for the team in the past. This franchise is far too asset-poor to let that kind of sentimentality influence our hockey decisions.
