My hunch is that Feaster didn't and won't see this year as one in transition. It all depends on whether Iginla gets re-signed, but Feaster hired Hartley and spent money on Wideman and Hudler. I bet Feaster thinks that "building for the future" just means not mortgaging the future for rental players. If Feaster has a chance to trade a first round pick for a 27 or 28 year old who can help now and have a few years on his contract, you can bet he'll consider doing it, especially if he re-signs Iginla.
