Bergeron is a 27 year old Selke caliber center. Probably one of the top-5 two way forwards in the game. Iginla is a 36 year winger on the last year of his contract.

Yeah I don't know why people keep making proposals for Iginla that involve quality roster players coming back. The team looking to acquire Iginla is probably a cup contender, therefore, they will be adding to improve competitiveness not reduce or even keep it equal.
Contenders will only trade prospects and picks to the Flames for Iginla because they need their roster players for a long cup run. For the Flames, they should only be targeting prospects and picks because they already have enough veterans. They need a younger mix.
