If the Flames made a trade for him now I assume the Rangers would want futures and expirings. While Richards would likely be better playing Hartley's uptempo system where he rides his top players over Torts line rolling system. What I would be okay with the Flames offering is Cervenka, Butler, Comeau but that is not enough to get it done. Also I wouldn't want to deal any prospects unless it is Howse or Nemisz. Any way no way a trade would be worked out and if Feaster gave up valuable assets it would be a nightmare. Even without giving up good assets it has potential to blow up in the Flames face. 7 more years at $6.7M and he is 32. I have no doubt Feaster would have interest though as Richards is above and beyond a better centre than anything we have and he chased him before

From what I have read it is just speculation. Arguably with some sound logic behind it. These stupid long term deals really killed the trade market.
