Considering that not even in your rebuttal can you find an instance of the flames making a concerted effort to acquire and use more than the minimum amount of draft picks, which is what my point is, I'd say my conclusion is provable at this point.
25 years of treating the draft as an afterthought has obviously contributed to the lack of quality players at key positions and the sustained ineptitude of the franchise.
Ergo, making a concerted effort to acquire and utilize larger than average amounts of draft picks may yield positive results. Decisions such as acquiring more 2nd round picks rather than trading them for KHL goaltenders.
When was the last time the Flames had more than one pick in the first round? Honest question, I have no idea. Multiple picks in the second round?
