The bipolarity in this thread and among Flames fans leads to a tough decision about our centers.

If you are someone who genuinely thinks this team sucks and will continue to suck even with a large improvement at center, so much so that we will end up with a top 10 pick, then we shouldn't trade our 1st this season.

If you think we can make the playoffs, and can make a large improvement to the team by improving at the center ice position, I think our 1st should be part of the discussion for ROR. Unless the 1st is in the top-5, I think a 21 year old center addresses our team needs in coming years more than the vast majority of possible uses of our pick.

I think that's the only honest way to look at ROR and what he would be worth to an organization like ours who needs a center like him desperately. Of course, if you're Feaster, and it turns into a Burke-Kessel-Seguin shenanigan, well then you probably lose your job. But that's genuinely how much value I would assign to a guy like ROR for our organization.
