This EXACT thing happened with my MX1000. I called up logitech and they sent me a new mouse. It was still within a year when I did it. They didn't even make me send the old mouse back. I found a program somewhere that fixed the double click problem for me by making windows ignore extremely rapid double clicks, but I can't remember where and I've since formatted my computer. If I run across it again, I'll let you know.
