Credit to Giordano he absolutely saved us a goal and in doing so maybe a point by clearing that puck earlier, but that is an inexcuseable penalty to take at the end. You could see it coming a mile away too. I don't know if he spent the lockout huffing paint but Gio is quickly losing a lot of his lustre around here. I'm optimistic he'll turn it around but we desperately need him at the top of his game.
MacDonald was and has been brilliant. I really hope he can stay in the picture depending what happens with Kipper and Ramo. He's proved he can be more than capable as a backup and even a 1B if either of those guys were to struggle.
I don't think the entire PP needs to be overhauled just how we go about entering the zone. When the Flames are set-up in the offensive zone on the PP they are pretty efficient and dangerous, but their zone entries and their face-offs are pathetic.
The PK has been passable lately but it's tough to watch the Wild kill off a five minute major and double minor aggressively and with confidence and then see the Flames all collapse passively around the net in a weak box covering nobody in particular. The Wild were able to take their time work it between the points and shoot whenever they felt like it and Hartley made no adjustments of any sort.
Tough game to watch, but learn from it and move on, get the two points against the Avs.
