The West has had the stronger conference by far for 12+ years now and has always had to deal with more travel. Why not even it up a bit?

They are making the West smaller. All 16 Eastern time zone teams will be in the Eastern Conference. The 14 Pacific, Mountain, and Central time zone teams will be in the Western Conference.
