What a load of garbage. The Oilers' inability to sufficiently improve their team does NOT give them a pass with respect to improvement.

They were widely regarded as being competitive for a playoff spot this year and have had ample time to improve their team.

Absolutely NO REASON WHATSOEVER to give them yet another pass on ineptitude.

Virtually everyone outside of Calgary had the Oilers above the Flames in teh standings this year, and if it turns out that they aren't, it is a massive failure for the Oilers.
