That's definitely a possibility, but he's got a bit more potential than that. Julien talks about Spooner being a very smart player, but a guy who can lose focus. He's put up decent numbers in Providence,
if he can mature and become a more focused player he could be a decent top 6 forward. He also plays wing, and when he's played on Boston he's been on wing and looks decent there. He had a legit shot at making the team this year but was beat out by Bourque for the third line role, which is probably a good thing since Spooner is more suited for top 6.
This is not to say that Flames fans should be thrilled if they got Spooner, and I've said before I don't think Iginla gets moved. But, if it were to happen and the return was was similar to the Kaberle deal, Spooner and a first would be in that range. Personally, I think Spooner is a better prospect than Colborne was at the time. Just a few thoughts from a Bruins fan.
