I would point out that this is a legitimate discussion about a pretty important issue that currently has a news item to spur public awareness of it and so maybe this thread should be dedicated to that rather than sniping at FL for her posting style? Not that I particularly disagree with the criticisms but it's derailing a thread I happen to find interesting so I personally hope you guys wrap it up soon.

Bunk once said ( http://forum.calgarypuck.com/showthread.php?p=3988883) the community association is the group needing to request an ARP/upzoning, but none of them ever will. That benefits the city as a whole, but the NIMBYs running the associations will never request it.
If we're going to restrict suburbs then we need to replace the growth in the developed area, or housing prices will increase unsustainably. (That benefits me as a real estate investor, but disproportionately hurts poor people, and reduces Calgary's competitiveness)

This seems to me an excellent point. The Mayor's vision for this city, as I've said, I am behind - but this is kind of a crucial element to actually making it work, isn't it? I.e. this is an equally important problem to fix.
