That song came out before I did, but I'm pretty sure you are right -- he never had another hit.

But he doesn't really count as a one-hit wonder. He'd fit right in in a "One-Hit-30-Year-Career" thread and it'd be a one-post thread. He's been milking that song like a Holstein since 1971 and he's not about to stop.

I dug up this funny quote:

"I have never said a bad thing about the song, I was poor when I wrote it, and it made me a millionaire overnight. Believe me, I'm not upset about this song." - Don McLean, 2000.

He still sells tickets, albums and appears at festivals all on the basis of that song. Pretty amazing really.
