First of all, you have to think of rental pricing. They're not getting a 'locked-up to a great contract Iggy' they are getting 'pending UFA 35 year old' Iggy.
If the return was a first rounder that might be reasonable. Maybe a blue-chip prospect. Not both, and even one of those is pretty optimistic in my opinion.

I respectfully disagree. A team that trades for Iginla will be a Stanley Cup contending team who is looking for a final piece. A 1st round pick (24-30th since that is the spot where a team would trade for him would be) + a good prospect would be paid by 5-6 teams in the league who think they have a good shot to win it all and are a piece away.
With that said, people asking for Brayden Schenn is way over the top as well. Philly wouldn't do that 1 for 1.
