This is only my opinion but the only way I see Iginla not being Captain of the Flames is one of two ways, retirement or being traded/signing to another team. Personally this teams leadership has become stagnant over the last three seasons but it has more to do with endless repetition rather than a lack of leadership from Iginla. The whole scenario is old and stale, from the same questions asked over and over......and over from the media. Being the face of a franchise for so long with more losing than winning will take its toll as well. That's just my take though.
Add to the mess this roster is right now and it isn't getting much better.
But what I really came to post here was that I like the addition of Aliu to the line up. Aggressive youth paired with some fairly decent hands and good size should help the team more than hinder it. Adding more and more youth wont hurt at all given the current state of affairs. What I do not like is the underlying costs of bringing up Aliu.
Whether or not they are top six or bottom six guys to me is irrelevant, but the fact that they sent down two natural centers only to leave one left up on the big club is dumbfounding to me. I was against having Cammy or Tanguay playing out of position before the season started and am still against it.
