I haven't seen it mentioned, but my feeling is that Iginla is open to a trade to a contender if the Flames are out of it, then would likely re-sign here. He gets another chance to win, the flames get some assets, then he gets to come back where his family is settled and wants to stay.

I think the team is on board with this, and just saying all the right things.
