Deliberate headshots aren't the problem, blindside shots are. If Keith isn't admiring his pass it isn't a blindside. Keith should learn that even if it's just a Sedin, they can still hit him.

Oh no, I was merely refrencing the frontier justice stated by Transplant. And I wouldn't be outraged, I would have accepted there was no call because the Canuck player was staring at this glorius little chip up the boards. The difference here is, Sedin's hit was clean. Keith's retaliation, because he couldn't watch that magnificent chip pass a little bit longer, was dirtier than than Chicago ghetto Theo talks about in Playing with Fire.

You are trying to both excuse and justify it over a clean hit.

After all, going after Hansen would NOT be equivalent to taking a top scorer off the ice.

Transplant agrees with you, which is why I said what I said. And it wouldn't be equivalent to that, but it would be... say... equivalent to a team's top scorer with a vicious elbow to the jaw.... cause the offending player didn't get to longingly look at the marvelous movement he put on the vulcanized rubber disc a little bit longer.

You're totally trying to excuse Keith's actions. Hansen was reaching for the puck, and if Hossa had kept his head up and not let Torres turn his brains to mush, this isn't even 2 minutes. Sadly, staring the wrong direction must be a Blackhawk thing.
