I really have not enjoyed or supported these Trade Iginla threads in the past. I wear an Iginla jersey to the games.
Iginla merchandise is well represented in our house in almost anything that has been made. Hell we even have Iginla Christmas ornaments.
But for the good of the Flames a tough decision needs to made and it has to be done.
Iginla in the last 3 games.
1 Assist
-1
4 shots.
6 hits.
That is it, not even close to good enough.
Iginla said something to the effect of...
after last season that he would like this team to be more competitive and and that him resigning will weigh partially on how well the Flames season goes.
Iginla seems to be ok with the Flames being a bubble team. Not that he likes them being always hovering at or just above or below that number, but rather when then they have the chance to move up he slumps. Passes off in the slot in a tied or 1 goal game for example, and appears to lose confidence i really don't know but know what i have seen.
So are you part of the solution this season Iggy?
Has father time finally caught Iginla?
Is he disinterested in playing for the Flames?
Personally I believe Iginla needs a change of scenery to a new team and so do the Flames.
It has become stagnant with Iginla this season and really it has been going on to the last month and half of 2011-2012 season.
Iginla seems to be mellowed out compared to his fierce demeanor of the past.
Perhaps he refinds that with another team. I have no doubt that he will but with the Flames he has over time just settled into some bad consistant habits that use to show up every 10 games, then every 5 games. Now it is becoming stretches of several games where he is just another #12 out on the ice not Jarome Iginla.
He has become to settled in to being what i call a .500 player.
Ok with .500 record as a team and ok with playing with an all out attitude 50% of the time.
Iginla will flourish on a competitive team but what angers me about what i am seeing from him is how he is creating a non competitive work ethic on the Flames. You can see that possibly other players are being effected on the ice and that just settle kind of attitude is spreading.
I am sure the list would be long for GM's interested in acquiring Iginla in a cup run.
It is past due for the Flames to start this process and really put that into action.
What worries me most about the Flames trading Iginla is they have to make the right trade and that being the best return for the Flames.
They can't get swindled like they have in the past.

The issue I have is that ownership/management always say they won't move Iggy unless Jarome himself comes to them and requests/suggests it...I love what Jarome Iginla has done for this organization and I understand the respect level, but seriously Murray Edwards and Ken King need to get their collective heads out of their azzes and make a business move for long-term future growth, if it's not already too late...I don't think Feaster has much say in any transactions involving Iggy.
