I am probably in the minority here, but I don't see why people are making a big deal about the possibility of moving Iggy for a couple of seasons. It's a win-win, as long as he stays in Calgary it's status quo with him being the "leader" and no room for the kids to step up and take on that role. I say let him chase a cup for a couple of years while we try to rebuild. It will give us a chance to retool and hopefully he can come and retire here in a different capacity. As long as he stays in Calgary it doesn't seem like the transformation of Iginla into a Selanne type role is ever going to happen, we just rely on him too much.
If he really doesn't want to leave Calgary to try to win a cup, it's actually more disappointing to me because to me, that tells me he is more interested in riding it out to retirement here and padding stats. (I don't believe this is the case)
