Well one thing for sure is the Dorner manhunt has really put a spotlight on LAPD police brutality. While what he did was crazy and illegal, it did bring a lot more attention to the problems with the LAPD. Just in this manhunt alone there were two documented cases of shoot first ask questions later on innocent bystanders and the cabin caught fire with tear gas canisters that were accidentally "incendiary" when they weren't supposed to be?
I really wouldn't be surprised if a lot of what Dorner was saying about the others officers and rape as well as the beating bits being true given LAPD's past history. Take for example this LA cop that gunned down a guy on the street and then takes an extra shot after shooting the guy four times in the back for good measure. Execute much? Was that extra shot to the head really necessary after shooting the guy in the back four times? Officer was cleared of wrongdoing before this video was released.
