The Flames didn't show up in the first, they got outworked in almost every aspect of the game. A team like the Blues will do that if you're floating.
However, when they did show up in the second, they had possession time, gained the zone, won the faceoff stats, and didn't look like a far lesser team, because they showed a lot of will to get pucks on the net.
People can't be nit picking the 1st period and all of a sudden judge this season's team on a disaster of 20 minutes that was made worse by incredibly fortuitous bounces for STL and a fluke save on Brodie, as well as .500 goaltending.
