It's not that we are fans of him, it's defending him in a situation he should be defended in. Yes, he should of been out of the league a long time ago for his antics, but you can't seriously blame him for this.
He tried to get his legs between Karlsson's. His skate went down when they hit the boards, the momentum and him trying to regain his balance led to his skate getting caught up in Karlsson.
Kevlar socks, neckguards and visors should be mandatory I'd think. These guys are going around at highspeeds with knives on their feet, someone is going to get hurt like this again or worse. The Malarchuk incident is enough evidence of what can happen in this sport, not to mention what happened to Karlsson, Hall and many others.
I'm not a Cooke fan in the slightest, but if defending him this time makes me one, then so be it
