After the game a couple of his teammates said that they heard the comments in the "media" and by fans and insinuated that Iginla had also. I believe it was Tanguay that went on to say that Iginla had something to prove and that he did just that.
Besides, Iginla is human and his feelings get hurt. Also, he's a professional and takes pride in his job. I think anyone getting called out, depending on who's doing the calling out, can be impacted by it.
