Not engineered. This implies a deliberate intervention to change things, when what we are actually witnessing is the reciprocal cause and effect, development and response that tends to keep civilisation going.

Of course the traditional family "promotes a stronger cultural fabric." That is because culture has developed in such a way to both promote and support traditional marriage. This line of thinking is akin to the notion that marajuana use is harmful because users are in danger of criminal charges and prison. It's circular, and thus invalid.

Not at all. I was actually speaking of increasing opportunities for women generally and single parents specifically in the workplace. Single parenthood is not as detrimental nor as difficult an enterprise as it once was, and this is in large part thanks an improving egalitarian outlook. Broken families are far from ideal, but as they become progressively normative, they also become progressively manageable.
