Irving is 24 years old. Yes - he's been around awhile because he was drafted at 18 but he's also dealt with significant injuries which have hampered his development. I'd hardly say that his potential has peaked at 24. I don't think he's ever been given a true chance.

Taylor is a great story - but it's not like he's some this young up and coming superstar. He's 26 - not old by any means and, same as Irving, probably hasn't reached his potential. But how does Taylor get a chance to continue to develop when Irving doesn't?
