And if Iginla was 29 and coming off of back to back seasons over a ppg I might expect that kind of return for him. In reality he is 35 now so his next contract will be over the mark that a team will be stuck with regardless of injury or retirement. He is slowed down and isn't the aggressive powerforward to carry a team anymore.
That's not to say he doesn't have value, I think he is still going to score 20 goals this year and win a couple games on his back, but he is not in the catagory Nieuwy was, and will get a late 1st and maybe a mid-good prospect. He won't be getting a blue chip Iginla prospect either (and yes I know he wasn't the Flames first choice from Dallas but he was still one of the best propects out there.
