That's more to do with the properties of AM radio. You need a longer antenna to get a decent reception, something that you can't really do on a tiny MP3 player. FM isn't a problem though.

they were selling the model with the Fm Tuner for $20 more but I don't really listen to Fm radio anymore (Cjay has become stagnant) so my radio listening is confined to Fan960 and that's it, just means I'll be carrying around my Misakai mini radio I bought at Zellers for $8 more often
