Irish fight, and they joke around about it. Irish people typically find pride or humour in the Fighting Irish logo.

Celts used to be found from Spain to Eastern Europe and even Asia Minor. After a series of wars and what today would be classified as genocide, only pockets of Celtic people still exist in the UK, Ireland and France (and a lot people who identify as Celts don't actually speak the langage or follow the traditions).

Celtics honouring a group of people who have been devastated is hardly offensive.
Black Hawk was a symbol of genocide, not a survivor they're honouring with the team name.
Redskins is clearly racist, I can't believe that wasn't trampled on years ago.
Indians, while not widely viewed as offensive (the term 'Indians' was used in the article itself) but I have personally been corrected many times in my life when referring to them as Indians. It's an offensive term in the simple fact that they were confused to be people of India, and instead of giving them respect... the original settlers just referred to them as Indians anyway.
