No we would not be in the 2004 Finals without Kipprusoff and Gelinas. Both of those players played better than Iginla in the finals. If the Flames would have won the cup in 2004, Iginla would not have even come up in the Conn Smythe trophy award.
Sorry if my opinion differs from yours but there are far better Franchise Players out there than Iginla that played on Canadian teams.
Naslund, Linden, Alfredsson, Sundin all come to mind. These players made it past the 1st round more than once!
Sorry, I am a die hard Flames fan, but I refuse to sugar coat this team and more importantly its best Players inadequacies. I refuse to toe the 'Iginla can do no wrong' line.
