There are multiple reasons in the long (ie. anything past the end of this short seasoned) run of it that this would be terrible for the team. From a standpoint of acquiring assets and improving our production:salary ration Arnott would set us back both in draft (if he did provide temporary relief) and he'd take away from the development of our future assets. All in all it would be an extremely shortsighted move and it's move like it that will continue to cripple us. Jason Arnott is not the answer, guys like Backlund, Street, Horak, Baertschi, Cervenka, Hudler, Ramo are where the team should focus
Those talents need to be developed and will in effect improve our salary to performance ratio while at the same time allowing us to draft higher in this extremely lucrative draft year. This kind of move is shooting yourself in the foot and then limping along like a wounded animal.
