Having said that IMO Ward should have stuck with Irving until he regained his form. Irving was more valuable to the Flames for this season than a few games lost in the AHL. Than again obviously, Ward knows more about the situation than I do.

I seem to remember Feaster saying that his coaches shouldn't play favourites and that every player had to earn his spot in the line up. He didn't play well in Abby and lost his position to Brust and Taylor. At training camp he played better than Karlsson and won the backup position. That's the way it should always be IMO.
