As a radio guy, I'm not a huge fan of how Pat handles callers. It's also an issue with the call screener. He keeps them on too long, especially the ones who are all over the place. He ends up having long, drawn out conversations with Joe Blow from wherever and to me, that's not good radio. You gotta recognize what a good call is and what's a bad caller.
A good call in show, is when a guy makes a point, counter point from host, maybe another point from caller and out. If there's a good debate going on, then by all means, keep the ball rolling, but a lot of the time, Pat keeps them on way too long. I think Pat is a great guy on the Fan, but his handling of post game callers is where I have issue.
If it's a directive from the program director, then it's not on Pat.
