Sure there may not have been someone equal to Gasol, but there were some really nice players on both teams (and once again James was a primary factor in choosing the players around him). I really don't think those Lakers championship winning teams were that much better than James' Cavs at the time.
I guess we will have to disagree as I see Gasol and Odom as better than anything on the Cavs team in 09 and Gasol, Odom and Bynum as better than anything on the Cavs 10 team. When you consider how much better Gasol is than anything on the Cavs it really seems like no contest in terms of the quality of teams. The 4-7 spots aren;t great for either but having those other stars to help out makes a big difference for the Kobe teams over the Lebron teams.
