Craig Anderson, J. S. Giguere, D. Roloson, now perhaps L. Irving. All teams miss on prospects, but the best teams give their prospects all possible opportunities to excel before giving up on them. Maybe its the nature of the market, but the Flames seem to be more of the mindset that a prospect has to either come with a significant pedigree or simply WOW to survive organizational banishment.
The short sighted commitment to experienced, albeit mediocre, players has produced a predictable return. The Flames are the very definition of mediocrity. Present management needs to change course, or a change of course will be required.
