Gaslamp District. If you can't find a cool place to hang out or eat & drink here something is wrong.
Little Italy. Good food Good wine.
Seaport Village. Shops, cafes, artists, restaurants.
Mission Beach. Miles of beach, some bars & Wave House as mentioned.
Old Town San Diego. Cool place. Mexican type feel - restaurants, shops, lounges.
Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery. Google it. Stumbled upon it a few years ago. Cool setting & amazing views.
Altitude Skylounge. Great view from rooftop lounge at Marriott in Gaslamp.
