I somewhat disagree.
I swear part of Sutter's system was to have one winger (Iginla) stopped around center ice waiting for a pass from the D. The problem was, even if this winger received the puck, he was stopped and so was essentially ineffective, as:
- if stopped winger started to skate with the puck, his center and other winger would have to slow down, which slowed us down.
- if he made a pass to the breaking out winger/center, the pass would go through a clogged neutral zone
- which leads to plan c (or likely a): to dump it in and chase. However since one winger was stopped, we wouldn't be able to overload the opposition defense to win the puck battle.
