Sorry to hear you have become the first person ever in the history of the flying public to have their bags misplaced.
I'm only speculating, but I'm guessing your bags accidentally stayed on or re-boarded the plane in YVR and went back east. That's why it took so long to get back to you. Just a guess though. That, or they knew that you would be so upset about having to go to Tip Top and buy a new suit that thy just wanted to screw with you.
I'm also going to take a wild guess that you've had a stick up your arse about Wesjet prior to this anyway. You're pissed that your company didn't spring for first class like your Boston buddy, and just want to make a mountain out of a mole hill. Clearly just speculation though.
