Same here, did all three, kitchen, server, bartender (restaurant).
Made the most money as a server, bartender was easiest, got the most enjoyment out of cooking/prepping.
It's certainly not true that 10/10 kitchen staff couldn't handle the public, but I'd probably give you 8.5/10 with the. 5 being the guy who can do it part-time, but not full-time.
