Irving could only dress for a max of 20 games. The Heat already has two 'AHL veteran' goalies so why get Irving in, when he's already established that he can play at that level. It was more important to have Irving ready to compete for the back up job when the lockout ended. Now Irving has his chance to show that he can play in the NHL.

Holy reach Batman. Irving was simply outplayed by the other goalies, it is not the first time that has happened either. Saying that the Heat already knew Irving was a good goalie so they went with another guy is ridiculous.
