Something I want you guys to watch for in this video. Recently Maxis added a few additional behaviours, Sims turn off their lights when they go to sleep, turn them on when they wake up, and when it is raining they light their fireplaces at home.




Something you won't see in this video but I think is cool. As an example of the way the simulation works, coal power plants actually burn coal. You can get it by mining it or importing it from the global market or a neighboring city. You will see when you watch the coal power plant, it burns a load of coal, produces power, and a puff of smoke comes out the stack. That puff of smoke tells you that the power plant is working but not only that, if you see that the puffs of smoke coming from the power plant are getting smaller, it is running out of coal (less coal burned, smaller puff of smoke, less power produced). Lots of systems work like this in the game and I'm excited to see more of it.
