Rick Wamsley lived in the same neighbourhood (Woodbine), as a Flames obsessed 10 year old, naturally my friend and I figured out where he lived. I was under the impression the Flames brought their equipment home after every game just like we did. So we would try and figure out ways to sneak into his house and "borrow" his goalie mask. Vernon was still wearing that stupid helmet, so this was the only Flames mask in town...and in my mind it was pretty simple to make it mine.
Looking back, that's some pretty creepy stuff. I spent a lot of time thinking about that mask. I wonder if he still has it?...and where he keeps it
